Between Land and Sky, 2019, Artificial fog, neon tube, sound system, Arduino, Variable dimensions
This work questions how sensory alteration and disorientation alter our perception of the environment and, by extension, our relationship to the artwork, by offering us a two-part experience. At the entrance to the room, a cold white light, emitted by neon lights, and a soundscape define the atmosphere. Gradually, an artificial fog invades the space, synchronized with the fading of the sound. As the smoke unfolds, the sound slowly disappears, plunging the viewer into a back-and-forth between transparency and opacity, silence and noise, dreamscape and reality.
